THE ENCINO RANCH, consist of two separate properties outside of Sonora, Texas in Sutton County. Together, the two ranches total over 17,000 acres. This ranch has been under a strict management plan for the last 7 years. Each year this ranch is surveyed from a helicopter, protein fed during the off-season and only mature bucks are harvested each year. This ranch is on the State MLD Program which means rifle hunting begins in October and hunters are able to use buck permits supplied by the state rather than using their own tags. Each year this ranch produces some 160-class deer but the average harvest should be around 140. Based on the herd numbers, it is not uncommon to see 5-15 different bucks so harvest odds should be close to 100%.

For the 2006/2007 deer season, a total of 24 whitetail buck hunts will be sold. A total of 8 hunters per hunt, which will be divided into three different hunt dates. During the October hunt, most hunting will be from a stand while the deer are still in their normal feeding habits. Nov/Dec hunts are considered rut hunts; method of hunting will be from a stand with some rattling and stalk hunting. This ranch is free range and all low-fence.

During the spring season we will be hunting the entire ranch. This ranch has a large population of birds and in years past has offered hunters 100% success on two birds. Hunters will be dropped off and be responsible for their own calling but full-guided hunts can be arranged for an additional fee. A total of 16 hunts will be sold during the 2007 season, which will be broke down into two hunt dates with 8 hunters on each hunt.
